WOW JUST WOW

I just saw on my home page that the people arming because they are afraid  a civil war  may start with the swearing in of the new president.   Seriously I think EVERYONE ON ALL SIDES need to take a step back, count to ten and then take a few deep breaths.  After that I think they ALL really need to look at what they are doing and what they may start if they try anything stupid and pointless.   I can not help remembering a line from M*A*S*H I do not remember the exact quote, but it went something like " What good is it to win a war, if you destroy your home doing it."   Way i see it is if you are a true American and a believer in the our government, at this point you need to just calm down and trust in the process that it will all work out.   BRIGHT SIDE: even if it does not we get to do it all over again in 4 years lol.  So calm down, and saver the country by not destroying it.

WHAT IS GOING ON ?

What is going on with the mail service in this country today?   In the past month I have had 2 bill payments not show up at the companies to which I issued them.  My neighbor was told by her mail man that he put her package in a locked parcel box and put the key in her locked mail box, but when she opened it no package.   What irritates me is the one bill payment that went missing was to a company that has not received my payments in the past after I sent them.   Ironic thing is after I reissued the payment the original one showed up and was credited to my account too.   I do not know what is going on with the mail service in this country, but I wish they would sort it out.  Before any of you suggest electronic pay may I point out when you put all that info on line it makes it easier for crooks to get hold of your info.   I spent my whole life building good credit and I really do not want it messed up at this time in my life.  I think the postal service should get things sorted out so it runs correctly.   While I am at it i REALLLLLLLLLLY HATE this thing of throwing packages on you porch and not even knocking on the door before they run back to their trucks.  I get it if they do not want face to face contact with the houses they are delivering too, but they should at least knock so people know to look for packages thrown on their porches.
I think it would be really cool if someone would invent a box to put the parcels in that would ring a bell inside the house to let the owner know a delivery had been made.  It would also be cool if it was unlocked till the delivery person put the package inside and pushed a button on it to lock it so it could only be opened by the owner.  BTW if any of you think this is a good idea and want to make it, go for it just remember I want a free one for giving you the idea lol.

Dear Mr President

Dear Mr President,

Do you not think it may be time for you to stop all these temper tantrums and inciting violence to try to keep you in charge of a country who no longer wants you to run it.  My brother and sister were BOTH supporters of you all along.  I did not dare say anything against you or your policies to my brother, but the way you have been presenting your self since the election is not that of  a strong businessman  You are acting more as one would expect a small child to act if someone took away their favorite toy.   All the yelling, texting, posting, and inciting others to do your dirty work for you does  not show a strong figure to whom I would want to put my loyalties behind.
All you had to do was be professional as so many of your predecessors have done in the past, finish out your term and hand the keys to the white house to the next man in line.  In instead of presenting yourself as a good strong man who always had the best interest of this country in his heart,  you are stirring up those who think you were a good man and causing riots in an attempt to strong arm yourself into another term.  Sir that is not how this country works.  We would not still be here as a strong united country if those that came before you had all acted like you are.
I understand with all your wealth you are used to getting what you want, the bad thing for you is this country was not built by the rich and powerful people.  It was built by the common man who put his heart and sole into keeping it strong.  It is "A GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE".   No here in there does it say that it is a government that follows just one mans opinions to the end.   Why do you think presidents are only allowed 2 terms and not more?? It is because this country did not want a monarchy.   The way you have been acting recently it appears you are an all powerful king not a president.  The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA will not stand for this behavior.
On a sidebar note you have children that some news people suggested may want to run for office in the future.   Can you not see your actions at this time may hurt their chances of winning later?   It is said the apple does not fall far from the tree.  Do you not think that maybe people would flash back to your self centered, spoiled child behavior, and wonder if your children got into office, if they would react the same when it was their time to go?
You should think of all the things I have said in this blog before making another move designed to disrupt the democratic process.

PRINCIPLE VERSES MONEY

I want to pose a few questions to you all.  Why is it so hard for some people to understand why someone would choose not to pay a small price for something, but rather take another way that would take longer and more work to get the same result, if the money charge goes against ones principles?   Such as if you had been getting something for free and then suddenly you are told you must do X amount of work or pay a small cash amount.  I would rather do the work to get what I want instead of paying the small amount in cash. I feel this way not because I could not afford the small amount, but rather because I think it is wrong to charge a price for something you had been getting for free for years, and some people still do get for free.
Next question: Is it wrong to be annoyed with a friend when you lend them some money for a really good reason, and frankly do not care if you ever get it back, but they stop answering your calls to check on them , and do not call you back? Example: I have a couple friends that mean a lot to me. They are mother and daughter, but the daughter has always felt like my little sister. Over a year ago, we found out the mother had dementia and the daughter needed help to get her mom in a care place.  I very willingly loaned her the money and told her it was no hurry to pay it back. Frankly I do not even care if she never pays it back. I have received many blessings this year, but what does other me is when I call my friend to check on her mother she never answers the phone or returns the call.  She forgot to tell me where her mom was so I can not call her mom to see how she is doing.  Around my birthday this year I got 3 very beautiful birthday cards from my friend. What she wrote in the one was so sweet it made me cry.  There was no return address on any of the cards, and I tried to call her and thank her it went straight to voice.   Am I wrong to think she should give me a call and let me know how she and her mom are doing?  None of this has been about money.  I just want to know how my friends are doing.  It sucks with all this pandemic crap going on to hear nothing from them and to have no idea if they are even still alive or not.
I have a problem with people breaking promises to me.  I was looking for a new fanny pack a few months back and found one I was thinking of buying.  Another friend of mine told me to go ahead and get it and that she and her sister would send me the money to pay for it as a Christmas present, so I did.  Christmas came and went and they did not keep their promise to send me the money for the fanny pack.   I have not said anything to them about it , because it was never about money, but am I wrong to have my feelings hurt that they promised to do something and did not do it, especially when I do not break promises to them?
I do not need the money and that has never been the issue. My issue is how do you trust someone again who did not keep their word?  I have no intention of saying anything to them about it, but it hurts when she shows you what she got everyone else for Christmas and did not even send you a card after promising to pay for the fanny pack as your present.  I have never worried about money I have gave or lent to people.  There is something in the Bible that says (and I hope I quote this correctly I am sure if I do not someone will correct me lol)  Give to anyone who asks, and what things they try to take away from you do not try to get them back.
And final question: Is it wrong to have hurt feelings about something even though you know in your heart you should not, because the person or persons that have hurt your feelings are just being who they themselves are?  When I get my feelings hurt I try not to let the person that did it without meaning to do it know that I am hurt, but it is hard sometimes.  Anyone who thinks any of the people I spoke about in this may read it. No worries there as none of them read blogs :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS

On this day before Christmas I am not resting well.   This is going to be a really lonely Christmas.   I know it needs to be this way for now, but I keep finding my mind drifting back to Christmas' past.   We were very poor when I was a child.  My parents raised 5 children on only $250 every 2 weeks, and that is without state assistance.   For Christmas we would each get 1 toy usually and the rest of any presents we got was clothes and things we needed.   We did get some things in our stockings.   It usually was not much a candy cane, an orange and or and apple depending on what we had money for, and a handful of chocolates and hardtack candy.
My mom would make potato candy ( it was a potato boiled with the skin on then skinned after it was cooked.  It was mashed while still warm and confectioners sugar was mixed in with a tsp of vanilla.  She would keep adding sugar to the potato till it was stiff enough to roll out like you would dough to make a cinnamon roll. The hotter and bigger the potato is the more sugar it takes to make it roll out.  Then she would spread it with peanut butter, and roll it up like a cinnamon roll.  She would then slice it into pieces about a half an inch thick, and dip both ends of each piece into confectioners sugar before refrigerating it.) Anyone who has never had potato candy I can tell you it is really good.   It was something we only had at Christmas, and that made it special.
My dad would usually wait till the Christmas tree till the day before Christmas to go get the tree. I remember this one year my dad went out late to get the tree, and when  he brought it home and untied the twine he had tied around it to hold the branches in place. He stood it up in the mount, and my mom walked around the tree to have a good look at it.   She said to my did, "Did you even look at this tree before you chopped it."  He said, Yea, looks good doesn't it?" Mom said not from where I am standing. Dad walked around the tree to discover all the branches had been cut off the back side of the tree. ( probably to make a wreath or a grave blanket.)  Dad did not miss a beat he said, " Ok we will put that side against the wall."  That problem was solved.
If I can not have a good family Christmas this year I will just remember the good ones from the past, and dream about a better one next year.  Till we can all get together with our families again try to keep the hope , Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.  Just remember one thing it is not about the gifts or even the family gatherings Jesus is the reason for the season.   It is his birthday (according to history) and it still will be even if we are all alone.
